Sivan: great resonance

I was so sorry and shocked to hear about Ester. Although Ester and I took our separate paths, I have truly fond memories of our friendship. Our shared experiences of growing up continue to have great resonance for me: going to Camden together, listening to The Beatles, sharing reading lists and, of course, discovering values such as animal rights. I remember Ester as fun, gutsy, talented, highly intelligent and determined. Despite not being in contact, I was always updated on Ester’s activities and very much admired her actions, from afar.

Janet Cokeliss: sorrow beyond words

I first met Ester when she was 9 years old and was impressed by her composure, her serenity. Our paths crossed only about 6 times between then and the last time I saw her, when she was 18, but each time I was struck by her sensitivity and compassion. She talked of feeling she didn’t help others enough — but this was because her heart was so large, she had so much to give. Her untimely passing is a loss to all who knew her and to the world.
